Project Manager

Company profile

As a Project Manager you will be a building member of a strongly growing, result driven IT Company. The company is located nearby Amsterdam and consists of a team of about 80 developers, testers, business analysts and software engineers. You will be working in a small, informal and pleasant atmosphere with more than 20 different nationalities. The company designs, modifies, develops, maintains and improves software systems and application for major financial institutions in the Netherlands and other European countries. There are plenty of career opportunities within the company. You will be coached and trained according to fields of your interests.

Job description

  • Participate in the sales phase with the client and provide input for the proposal
  • Create and execute project work plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements
  • Identify resources needed and assign individual responsibilities
  • Manage day-to-day operational aspects of a project and scope
  • Review deliverables prepared by team before passing to client
  • Effectively apply our methodology and enforces project standards
  • Prepare regular detailed reports to the client as to scheduling
  • Ensure project documentation is complete, current, and stored appropriately
  • Maintain risk and issue logs
  • Manage project budget and negotiate changes with the client
  • Identify business development and "add-on" sales opportunities as they relate to a specific project

Job requirements

Skills & knowledge

  • HBO (Higher Vocational Training) or University education
  • A minimum of 3 years experience as a Fixed Price - Fixed Date project manager
  • Working knowledge of Prince 2 or other standard project management methodology
  • Experienced in implementing changes in financial industry
  • Knowledge of the insurance risk management sector is preferable
  • Knowledge and experience in all project phases
  • Strong communication and social skills.
  • Good verbal and written skills in English, other languages are a plus.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Good time management skills.
